Soccer: BGA, GCA, BA, Page earn wins Tuesday

Graham Meyer scored early and assisted on another goal for Battle Ground Academy as the Lady Wildcats won 3-1 Tuesday at St. Cecilia Academy.

Meyer scored in the second minute and assisted on Annie Clendenin’s tally in the 33rd before SCA’s Claire Peters launched a 35-yard goal past BGA’s Anna Quinn French for a 2-1 contest late in the first half.

Anna Kerr made it three goals in four minutes when she scored for BGA in the 37th. The Lady Wildcats held steady the rest of the way. They host Smyrna on Friday.

Grace Christian Academy 6, Zion Christian 0

The Lady Lions improved to 4-0 this season with a shutout victory over Zion Christian Tuesday behind a hat trick from Gabby Jones.

Ann Blair Fish added a pair of tallies to compliment Jones’ three goals, while Savannah Phillips scored the other GCA goal. Both Hope Ring and Abby White recorded assists for the Lady Lions, who next host Culleoka on Thursday.

Page 4, Martin Luther King Jr. 1

The Lady Patriots trailed 1-0 in the 25th minute thanks to an early MLK Jr. score before rattling off four straight to take the contest.

Megan Henry broke a 1-1 tie in the 49th minute and both Gigi Maddox and Kendall Webb added scores in the final 15 minutes for Page.

Brentwood Academy 6, Franklin Road Academy 0 

Six Lady Eagles scored as BA shut down FRA Tuesday. 

Grace Klippenstein scored in the third minute to set the tone for BA. McKinley Stiff (12th), Felicity Chandler (40th), LJ Knox (59th), Felicity Chandler (73rd) and Taylor Butler (79th) rounded out the scoring for the Lady Eagles. Jessie Brown made two first half stops in goal for BA and Ella Stenga closed the second half with a save to perserve the shutout.
