Lausanne snaps defending Class 6A state champion Whitehaven's 18-game win streak
There is a new football king in Memphis.
Lausanne, which won the Division II-A state title a year ago, upset defending Class 6A champion Whitehaven 14-7 on Friday night for the biggest win in the program's history.
Reigning Division II-A Mr. Football Back of the Year Eric Gray scored the game winner on an 11-yard run.

"I felt comfortable that we could put ourselves in a position to fight for the win in the fourth quarter," Lausanne coach Kevin Locastro told the USA Today Network - Tennessee. "I was concerned about our depth and our kids running out of gas late in the game. But it's been a long time since I've been as proud of a group of guys."
The loss snapped Whitehaven's 18-game win streak and improved Lausanne's win streak to 17.
