Bolivar quarterback Trey Lowe attempts a pass against South Gibson on Sept. 1, 2017. South Gibson won 28-16.

With his team down 33-30 and 3:31 remaining on the clock, Bolivar senior Trey Lowe was going to have to create something fast if the Tigers were going to pick up a fourth win on the season.

Lowe, a West Virginia commitment, created offense quickly as he ran 40 yards for a touchdown 47 second later to send Bolivar to its first Region 7-3A win, 36-33 over McNairy Central.

He finished with 205 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 18 carries to be named the Week 5 Player of the Week.

With touchdown runs of 46, 40, 23 and 13 yards, he helped the Tigers fight back from a deficit that was as much as 10 points early in the game.

Lowe also completed five passes for 51 yards.

His 6-foot-4, 205-pound frame is one thing that his coach Woodrow Lowe Jr. believes sets him apart from many quarterbacks in the area.

"He has matured and developed physically," Lowe said. "When he started he was 155 pounds and like 6-foot-1; now he is 6-foot-4 and 200 pounds. That is an NCAA quarterback-type body."

Bolivar (4-1) hosts South Side in Week 6 before returning to region action in Week 7 with a road trip to Milan.
