Bearden girls soccer shuts out district opponents, wins regular-season title

Bearden girls soccer took care of District 2-AAA in easy fashion, clinching the regular-season championship on Thursday without allowing a goal.

The Bulldogs shut out Jefferson County 5-0 on Thursday to finish their district play  4-0. Bearden outscored its district opponents 21-0, beating Morristown West 9-0, Morristown East 3-0 and West 4-0.

Going into Tuesday's game, the Bulldogs were led by Ashtyn Glover's nine goals, followed by eight by Abby Brewer and seven from Emily Carlevato. Four of Carlevato's goals came in the past week.

Bearden is 8-3-2 overall with several key non-district matches still to play, especially at Hardin Valley and at Farragut.
