Fairview Girls finish Smoky Mtn. Soccer Tourney strong

The Fairview High School Lady Jackets Soccer team earned a second place finish in the Smoky Mountain Cup Tournament, held in Gatlinburg September 15-17.

The Lady Jackets opened their tournament play with a 6-3 win over Lexington. They then lost to the first place team of Knoxville Central 4-1, and finished the tournament with a 4-3 win over Sullivan Central.

According to FHS head girls soccer coach Kevin Sizemore, the impressive showing by the Lady Jackets this weekend was led by Katie Hall scoring 5 goals and Lila Chivers scoring 4 goals and Hannah Crist scoring her first high school goal. In addition, Lila, Katie and Autumn Hargrove each added 2 assists in the successful weekend.

Haley Savage and Carly Wagner combined for the two wins. The Lady Jackets now have an overall record of 5-4 and are 1-0 in district 12 AA play. They will play at home at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, October 3 against LEAD Academy for Senior Night.
