September 22, 2017 - CBHS' Al Wooten runs with the ball during Friday night's game at Christian Brothers High School.

Offense

Ahmad Benney, Manassas: Despite being on the wrong end of a 64-30 loss to St. Benedict, Benny played well for the Tigers. He caught five passes for 120 yards and scored twice (7, 38).

Avent Blueitt, St. Benedict: Blueitt ran for 180 yards and a 7-yard touchown as the Eagles improved to 6-0 with a 64-30 victory over Manassas.

Devin Boddie, Lausanne: With starting quarterback Sky Forest still not 100 percent, Boddie nearly matched the performance of his more celebrated teammate Eric Gray in his team's 54-20 victory over St. George's, rushing for 181 yards and scoring three times (39, 14, 20). He also threw for 143 yards and a touchdown.

Owen Brody, CBHS: Brody threw five touchdown passes — all in the first quarter — as the Brothers took control early and defeated East, 48-27. Ryan Whitaker (44, 4, 71) had three of the scoring receptions while Walter Soefker (21) and Nick Montesi (25) also got in the end zone.

Mercedes Byrd, Westwood: Byrd had another fine game in Westwood's impressive 22-21 road win at Chester County, completing 16 of 33 passes for 279 yards and two scores (both to Ion Williams). Marvin Farmer was his top target with 8 catches for 123 yards.

Cameron Caldwell, Memphis Nighthawks: Caldwell ran for 181 yards and scored four touchdowns as the home-school Nighthawks defeated Rossville, 34-12. His scoring runs came from 20, 10, 6 and 3 yards out. Teammate Aziz Makawi added 114 yards on 15 carries.

Chris Colebank, Houston: One of the area's most consistent running backs, Colebank had another productive game in the Mustangs' 32-16 victory over Melrose, rushing for 142 yards and scoring twice.

Matt Connors, Collierville: The senior was an efficient 13 of 19 for 114 yards with a 24-yard touchdown as the Dragons defeated Wooddale, 33-13.

Kyree Davis, St. Benedict: Davis played a big role in St. Benedict's offensive explosion in a 64-30 win over Manassas, catching five passes for 124 yards and two touchdowns (19, 72).

Marshun Douglas, Kirby: Douglas ran for six touchdowns in a 52-0 victory over Kingsbury in Region 8-5A play. He scored on runs of 69, 2, 2, 1, 35 and 2 yards while picking up 134 on 14 carries as the Cougars (4-2) ended a two-game losing streak.

Mac Fullen, Tipton-Rosemark: The sophomore treated the Homecoming crowd to 205 yards on 16 carries with touchdown runs of 9, 8 and 20 yards as the Rebels hammered MASE, 49-14 to improve to 5-0.

Eric Gray, Lausanne: Just another Friday for the reigning Mr. Football. Gray ran for 186 yards and scored four times (23, 16, 60, 20) and added a fifth touchdown on a 25-yard reception as the Lynx won their 19th game in a row, 54-20 over St. George's.

Jack Grissom, FACS: Shelby County's passing leader was at it again 42-20 loss to region rival University School of Jackson. Grissom completed 39 of 56 passes for 406 yards and a 60-yard touchdown to Joseph Thaxton (10-112) while also running for a score. Tristan Bullock finished with 9 catches for 113 yards.

Cole Johnson, Collierville: Had scoring runs of 2 and 5 yards as part of a 97-yard effort as the Dragons handled visiting Wooddale, 33-13.

Jaylon Reed, Olive Branch: After a winless 2016, the Quistors are 5-0 following a 56-0 Homecoming victory over Saltillo. Reed caught just two passes but they went for touchdowns of 77 and 67 yards.

Jake Roane, Tipton-Rosemark: Roane picked up 163 yards and scored three times (15, 12, 9) as the Rebels rolled past MASE, 49-14. As a team, TRA piled up 495 yards on the ground.

Isaac Smith, St. George's: Smith scored all three touchdowns in his team's 54-20 loss to Lausanne, catching scoring passes of 38, 57 and 9 yards from Wusef Thomas while finishing with 7 catches for 126 yards.

Jacob Stephenson, Olive Branch: Stephenson made the most of his five completions in a 56-0 victory over Saltillo, throwing for 204 yards and three touchdowns (77, 67, 38).

Jackson Walker, Briarcrest: The junior didn't have to play much in his team's 52-14 victory over KIPP but was very effective with when he did, completing 7 of 12 passes for 173 yards and four touchdowns as the Saints improved to 6-0.

Demarcus Ware, Olive Branch: Ware needed just nine carries to rack up 148 rushing yards in a 56-0 victory over Saltillo. He scored on runs of 3 and 58 yards.

Greg "Butta" Williams, White Station: The senior was in full beast-mode in the Spartans' 42-17 victory over Bartlett. He ran for 379 yards (averaging 16.5 per carry) and scored six touchdowns as White Station won its second game.

Al Wooten, CBHS: With the Brothers' air game clicking early, Wooten was able to take advantage with some productive carries later in the game. He finished with 147 yards on 17 carries and had a 12-yard touchdown run.

Defense

Lincoln Caldwell, St. Benedict: A top defensive performance in a game with 94 points scored? Yep. Caldwell had 13.5 tackles, 2.5 for lost yards and a 12-yard quarterback sack in the Eagles' 64-30 win over Manassas. He also forced a fumble and had a 2-yard touchdown run for good measure.

Vernon Harris, Raleigh-Egypt: Harris pounced on a fumble caused by Damonte Davis and went 60 yards the other way to help the Pharaohs defeat Millington, 60-6 and improve to 6-0.

Matthew Rhodes, MUS: The talented junior linebacker returned a fumble 32 yards for a score to help the Owls snap a rare three-game losing streak with a 33-14 victory over Haywood County.

All-purpose

Keveon Mullins, East: Mullins provided the only highlights for the Mustangs in their 48-27 loss to CBHS. He returned a kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter, moments after a 95-yard return was nullified by a penalty. He also scored on a 17-yard reception and had a 76-yard catch-and-run in the first half.

Special teams

Noah Grant, Briarcrest: Grant connected on all of his extra point attempts and made a season-long 47-yard field goal to help the Saints to a 52-14 victory over KIPP.

Roy Guerrero, Kirby: Coach Chester Flowers values his kicker's contributions and Guerrrero was at his best in a 52-0 victory over Kingsbury, converting on 7 of 7 extra-point attempts and a 27-yard field goal.
