Notre Dame, CCS Advance In Region Soccer Tournament

Notre Dame claimed a 2-0 win over Knoxville Webb in a Division II-A East Region quarterfinal game at home on Thursday.

Neither team scored in the first half.

Anna Behlau scored first of the Lady Irish on a penalty kick after a handball in the box with just under 13 mins left. Sofia Dobson scored less than a minute later.

Notre Dame only outshot Knox Webb 12-10. Webb had nine saves in goal. Each team took three corner kicks apiece. 

Lauren Teal earned the shutout with six saves for Notre Dame.

The CCS Lady Chargers earned a 7-0 win over visiting Kings Academy of Knoxville. 

Notre Dame will advance to Saturday's region semifinal game against Christian Academy of Knoxville. CAK won 6-0 over Silverdale Thursday night.

CCS will advance to play to play Grace Christian School of Knoxville who defeated Chattanooga's Grace Baptist Academy 4-0 in their quarterfinal matchup.

Both Semifinal games will be played Saturday at Chattanooga Christian school at 3:00 and 5:00 p.m.
