Here are the top high school football teams in the Memphis area after Week 9.

1. Lausanne (7-0)

Last week: 1

Result: Eric Gray ran for a career-best 323 yards on 35 carries and scored four times as Lausanne extended its state-best winning streak to 21 with a 44-7 victory over Northpoint. The junior's scoring runs covered 24, 20, 1 and 43 yards.

This week: University School of Jackson visits in a rematch of last year's state semifinal game won by the Lynx, 30-14.

September 08, 2017 - Lausanne's Eric Gray, 1, celebrates with teammates after running in for a touchdown during Friday night's game at Whitehaven High School. Lausanne topped Whitehaven 14-7.

2. CBHS (8-0)

Last week: 2

Result: Thomas McDaniel picked up his 100th victory as a high school coach as CBHS rolled to a 50-6 victory over St. Benedict, securing a first-round playoff bye in Division II-AAA. It's the third straight game the Brothers have scored seven touchdowns.

This week: The Brothers host Wooddale Friday in their eighth — and final — home game of the regular season.

5. Germantown (8-0)

This week: The Red Devils have already locked up their first winning season since 2012. They were 9-4 that year and can match that victory total with a victory over Central Friday at Crump.

6. Briarcrest (7-1)

Last week: 9

Result: Trailing 24-7 entering the fourth quarter, the Saints scored 21 unanswered to defeat MUS for the first time since 2003. Tyler Badie ran for 203 yards and scored twice, including the winner with 33 seconds left.

This week: One final non-league game for the Saints as they host Jackson North Side Friday.

7. Munford (7-1)

Last week: 8

Result: Did not play.

This week: The Region 8-5A playoff race still looks like an unsolved Rubik's Cube but the Cougars can do themselves a big favor with a victory over visiting Kirby on Friday.

8. Cordova (6-2)

Last week: 10

Result: Did not play.

This week: It's always fireworks when Cordova and Arlington get together. The 7-6A rivals play Friday at Arlington with first place in the region on the line.

9. Southwind (6-2)

10. Olive Branch (7-1)

Last week: 6

Result: The Quistors were brought down to earth, losing to West Point 51-7. Olive Branch went the entire first half without picking up a first down against the top-ranked team in Mississippi.

This week: Olive Branch will look to bounce back with a visit to Lake Cormorant for an MHSAA Region 1-5A game.

11. Covington (7-1)

Last week: NR

Result: Arguably the hottest team outside of Shelby County, the Chargers won their seventh straight, 49-21 at South Gibson. Cordarries Page (149 yards, two TDs) and Ke'Shun Gant (121, two) paced a potent ground game while Chucky Olden picked off his fourth pass in the last three games.

This week: Covington hosts Crockett County in a non-region contest Friday at 7:30 p.m.

12. Horn Lake (6-1)

Last week: 8

Result: The Eagles couldn't get anything going offensively and dropped their first game of the year, 21-0 against Oxford.

Dropped out: No. 11 MUS (lost to Briarcrest, 28-24)
