Notre Dame Soccer Advances To DII-A Quarterfinals

The Lady Irish of Notre Dame carried the fourth seed from the region tournament to Knoxville on Wednesday to play University School of Jackson which was the third seed out of the west. 

USJ got on the board first with a goal midway through the first half and held a 1-0 lead at the half. 

Notre Dame would score three unanswered goals in the second half to earn a 3-1 win. 

Notre Dame's first goal was scored by Elisa Alvarado, assisted by Sarah Eiselstein.
Sarah Moore gave Notre Dame a 2-1 lead assisted by Elisa Alvarado.

Notre Dame's final goal was scored by Liza Divini, on a header off of an Anna Behlau corner kick.

With the win, the Lady Irish advance to the Division II-A state quarterfinals on Saturday.  They will play at CPA which is the top seeded team out of the middle region.   Game time has not been announced.  

CCS is the other local team in the Division II-A tournament and they learned their opponent for Saturday quarterfinal match after USN beat FACS 6-0 on Wednesday.   CCS will host USN on Saturday at 3 p.m. The winner of Saturday's matches will travel to Murfreesboro next Thursday for the state semifinal matches.
