Five girls basketball players trending up in Clarksville
What many predicted before the 2017-18 basketball season began has been holding true for much of the area's girls high school basketball teams.
Rossview (5-0) and Clarksville High (4-1) are Nos. 1 and 2 in the District 10-AAA standings with Henry County and Kenwood lurking. Clarksville Academy's move to Division II-A District 4 has the Lady Cougars with the fourth-best overall record in their district (5-4).
As the first half of the school year winds down we take a look at five high school girls players who are trending up.
Diamond Jones, West Creek
Jones is the physical and emotional leader of West Creek and one of the best point guards in the city. She's averaging 19 points and three assists for the winless Lady Coyotes.
Madison King, Northwest
Northwest is off to a 5-4 start (2-2 in District 10-AAA), and King has provided the spark. She's averaging 14 points and five rebounds for the Lady Vikings.
Keisha Phillips, Clarksville Academy
With Sydneey Boykin out, Phillips has been dominating for the Lady Cougars and keeping the team afloat. Phillips is averaging 12.8 points, 8.3 rebounds and 2.4 steals.
Madisyn Hash, Rossview
Hash isn't in double figures, but that could change rapidly and she could be nearing a double-double. She is averaging 9.0 points and 7.5 rebounds.
Macy Rippy, Rossview
Rippy hasn't disappointed as she has led Rossview to an 8-0 record. Rippy is averaging 16.8 points and 2.2 assists.
