West Creek's Diamond Jones captures player of the week honors

West Creek's postseason didn't last long but that didn't stop one of the city's best players from capturing girls player of the week honors for Feb. 12-17.

The Lady Coyotes' Diamond Jones picked up more than 50 percent of the vote to be named player of the week.

She had 35 points and four assists in West Creek's loss to Northwest in last week's District 10-AAA girls tournament.

Jones accumulated 54.9 percent of the votes (1,066 total) while Northwest's Madison King finished second with 43.5 percent.
