Sarah Strong (14) and Briarcrest fell in the Division II-AA semifinals Friday in Nashville, 58-36 to Ensworth.

NASHVILLE — For the Briarcrest girls basketball team, Friday's Division II-AA semifinals were a frustrating rerun of years past.

Turnovers and poor shooting were the culprits as the Saints fell to Nashville Ensowrth, 58-36. The Saints — who end the season with a 19-11 mark — haven't won at Allen Arena since 2011 despite making the trip every year except one.

"We had what, 15 turnovers in the first half?," said coach Lee Smith. "You just can't do that against a good team. We didn't show up ... we're 10 times better than what we showed (Friday)."

Briarcrest ended the game with 24 turnovers, compared to only 14 for the Tigers (24-5). The Saints shot just 30.2 percent for the game (13 of 43).

Addie Reed came off the bench to lead the Saints with 12 points while 6-4 freshman Diona Reed had a solid game in the paint to finish with 10. Savanna Owens, who will be honored as a Miss Basketball finalist Tuesday in Murfreesboro, finished with four points and six rebounds in her final game.

Kaiya Wynn had 20 to lead Ensworth.
