Ensworth will get to defend its 2017 Division II-AA state championship after winning 58-36 over Briarcrest.

Fourth quarter

:58: Wynn with a nifty left-handed layup through a crowded lane. Ensworth 58, Briarcrest 36

1:43: Waggoner pushed form behind Owens fouls out for Briarcrest. Waggoner hits both free throws. Ensworth 56, Briarcrest 36

2:37: Ensworth's Wynn fouled. HIts both free throws. Ensworth 54, Briarcrest 36

3:22: Wynn with layup for Ensworth. Ensworth 52, Briarcrest 36

3:39: Whitson fouled. Hits 1 of 2 free throws. Ensworth 50, Briarcrest 36

Lady Tigers close first half on an 8-0 run to claim a 26-18 halftime advantage. Annabel Frist has a team-high 11 points for Ensworth, while Dontavia Waggoner and Kaiya Wynn each have 5. 

Second quarter

0:43.9: Briarcrest, which hasn't scored since the 3:26 mark, has committed 15 first-half turnovers. 

2:26: Waggoner layup caps 6-0 Lady Tigers run. Ensworth 24, Briarcrest 18. 

3:26: Briarcrest's Moore hits the first of two free throws to to tie things up. Ensworth 18, Briarcrest 18.

4:12: Frist jumper marks the third lead change of the quarter. Ensworth 18, Briarcrest 17. 

5:43: Steal and layup by Hunt brings Briarcrest to within one. Ensworth 16, Briacrest 15.

7:03: Kaiya Winn sinks a pair of free-throws for the Lady Tigers to snap a nearly two-minute scoring drought. Ensworth 16, Briarcrest 13. 

7:30: Doina Reed layup brings Briarcrest to within four. Ensworth 15, Briarcrest 11.
