Monday Round-up: Pitching performances highlight day

Unaka 2, Sullivan North 0 (Baseball)
John Ramsey struck out 14 batters to propel the Rangers to a league victory.

Ramsey allowed just four hits in a complete game effort, while also adding a hit at the plate. Dakota Gallimore also had an RBI.

In addition to Ramsey, Davy Ensor and Isaac Hill also added a hit a piece to the Unaka cause.


Happy Valley 5, Sullivan Central 2 (Baseball)
The Warriors used three runs in the bottom of the third to pull ahead and never trailed again in a Three Rivers matchup.

Kevin Whitaker went 2-for-2 at the plate with one RBI, while Hayden Holtsclaw was 2-for-3. Nolan Easlic was 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Easlic pitched the Warriors to the win as he went six innings. Easlic allowed just two unearned runs on five hits while striking out nine Cougar batters.

Elizabethton 21, Happy Valley 2 (Softball)
The Lady Cyclones scored nine runs and never looked back against the Lady Warriors.

Maci West led the way for Elizabethton with five RBI as she went 2-for-3 – including a homerun blast. Kaylin Shell, Hannah Edwards and Haley Fair all recorded three hits for EHS.

Olivia Absher recorded a hit and RBI for the Lady Warriors.

In the pitching circle, Kellie Cunningham picked up the win for Elizabethton as she allowed just two runs on four hits in three innings of work.

Hampton 13, Cloudland 3 (baseball)
The Bulldogs jumped out early and never looked back against Cloudland in the home opener at Hampton.
