2017-18 Leaf-Chronicle All Area girls basketball team

The 2017-18 Leaf-Chronicle All Area Girls Basketball team has been announced.

Here are the teams.

FIRST TEAM

Sydneey Boykin

Clarksville Academy

Basics: 6-0, G-F, So.

Boykin's stats took a dip after a hip injury kept her out for the first three weeks of the season. But her return was a problem for opponents. Boykin is tall with long arms and a quick first step that allows her to play guard and forward. She averaged 11.7 points, 4.0 assists and 3.4 steals.

Macy Rippy

Rossview

Basics: 5-10, G, Jr.

Rippy is the Lady Hawks' biggest offensive threat with her ability to create her own shot and get to the foul line. She averaged 13 points, 3.2 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2 steals.

Holli Shepherd

Stewart County

Basics: 5-8, F, Jr.

Shepherd was far and away the top offensive player for a team that was ranked in the top 10 in the state in Class AA. Shepherd averaged 16 points and 8.2 rebounds for a team that finished 23-6.

Ra'Mya Votaw

Kenwood

Basics: 5-6, G, Sr.

Solid guard with an outside shot who can finish around the rim after contact. Votaw was named All-District 10-AAA and all-tournament while averaging 13.8 points.

Deja Walls

Clarksville High

Basics: 6-1, F, Sr.

College: Signed with North Alabama

Walls is a load to handle in the post with a relentless drive defensively and on the glass. She averaged 12.4 points and 8.4 rebounds while being named All-District 10-AAA and all-tournament.
