2018 All-PrepXtra boys basketball team
Tickets are on sale for the 2018 Knox News Sports Awards presented by Farm Bureau Health Plans, recognizing the top athletic accomplishments in Knoxville area high school sports. It will be held May 31 at Tennessee Theatre.
The second-annual event features Green Bay Packer and Alcoa alumnus Randall Cobb as the guest speaker.

FIRST TEAM
Here are the five nominees for boys basketball player of the year, with the winner being announced at the Knox News Sports Awards.
Joe Anderson
Maryville, So.
Position: Guard
Why chosen: Anderson averaged 19 points and shot 48 percent from the field as Maryville advanced to the Region 2-AAA semifinals.

Why chosen: The Division II-A Mr. Basketball finalist averaged 22 points as the Rams won the state title.

Why chosen: Glover averaged 20 points as the Bulldogs advanced to the Class AAA semifinals and challenged Memphis East.
