2018 All-PrepXtra girls basketball team
Tickets are on sale for the 2018 Knox News Sports Awards presented by Farm Bureau Health Plans, recognizing the top athletic accomplishments in Knoxville area high school sports. It will be held May 31 at Tennessee Theatre.
The second-annual event features Green Bay Packer and Alcoa alumnus Randall Cobb as the guest speaker.

FIRST TEAM
Here are the five nominees for girls basketball player of the year, with the winner being announced at the Knox News Sports Awards.
Skylar Boshears
Campbell County, Jr.
Position: Guard
Why chosen: Boshears averaged 17 points and shot 52 percent from the field as the Cougars advanced to the Region 2-AAA semifinals.

Hardin Valley, Sr.
Position: Forward
The Chattanooga signee averaged a double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds.

Oak Ridge, Jr.
Position: Guard
Guinn averaged 17 points and six rebounds as the Wildcats advanced to the Class AAA sectional.

Bearden, Sr.
Position: Guard
The King University signee averaged 14.5 points and scored 43 points in two games at the Class AAA state tournament.

Position: Guard
Schubert averaged 20 points and six rebounds, powering the Panthers to the Region 2-AAA quarterfinals.
