A big offensive night carried the Henry County High School softball team to a 15-1 triumph over Northwest Tuesday in a District 10-AAA battle played in Clarksville.
The Lady Patriots are now 11-3 overall and 5-2 in the district. Henry County played at Springfield Wednesday night and will host Montgomery Central at 6 p.m. tonight.
Henry County scored eight runs in the top of the second inning at Northwest. The Lady Vikings got one run back in the bottom of that frame, but the Lady Patriots added one in the third and six more in the fourth inning.
Emily Gilstrap had a three-run triple in the game, while Gracie Osbron ripped two doubles, added a single and also knocked three runs. Caroline Hudson had three RBIs by hitting a double and two singles.
Avery Cox also smacked a double with two singles, while Katie Coffield delivered three singles for Henry County. Kaylee Marr hit a double and drove in two runs.
Emily Brown pitched five innings for the win, allowing one run on two hits and a walk. She had six strikeouts.
