There are two new faces in charge of Happy Valley basketball.
The school announced that Jeremy Maddox will take over the boys’ basketball program while Thomas Gouge will be the new head coach of the girls’ program.
Maddox is a 2004 Happy Valley graduate and takes over for Chuck Babb – who resigned after six seasons – after serving on Babb’s staff. He is just the fifth head coach in program history.
Maddox played for Carter County legend Charlie Bayless.
Gouge takes over after serving on the staff at Class AAA State Tournament qualifier Daniel Boone – which is his alma mater.
He takes over for Larry Abel who resigned after six seasons to spend time with his family.
