Zaid Alyoussef of MUS wins fans' vote for boys high school athlete of the week

Zaid Alyoussef of MUS is the winner of this week's fans' vote for boys high school athlete of the week.

Alyoussef scored all three of his goals in the first 10 minutes of the match to lead the Owls to a 3-1 victory over region rival Briarcrest. He earned 6,580 votes total (47.56 percent) to defeat Bartlett pitcher Chris Braswell.

Braswell finished with 5,376 votes (38.86 percent) after pitching a six-inning one-hitter with 12 strikeouts as the Panthers defeated Dandy Dozen No. 1 Covington. Rounding out the voting were Zach Davidson (FACS track), Hunter Goodman (Arlington baseball) and Yusef Thomas (Lausanne baseball).
