Bearden's John Beam voted the PrepXtra boys athlete of the week

Bearden baseball's John Beam was voted PrepXtra boys athlete of the week for April 16-21. The sophomore earned almost 42 percent of the vote.

Beam was 7 for 14 this week with five RBIs, three stolen bases and four runs scored as the Bulldogs went 3-1.

Webb tennis' Harrison Williams was second with 33 percent of the vote for his  two singles matches, including one over Baylor, and a doubles match, also over Baylor. Webb was 1-1 for the week. 

Austin-East track's Kiyontae Warren came in third. Warren won the 300-meter hurdles at the Volunteer Classic with a time 38.6 seconds, the fastest in the state this year. 

Nominations for April 23-28 can be submitted by coaches for next week's poll before 9 a.m. Monday.
