MURFREESORO , Tenn - For the second time this year, Baylor head soccer coach Curtis Blair was given the championship coaches plaque after the Red Raiders beat McCallie in penalty kicks in the Division II-AA state championship late Thursday.

Blair coached the Baylor girls to a penalty kick win for a state championship in the fall.

"It is such a blessing to be at Baylor and get to coach these kids,"  Blair said after the celebration. "This is a family and we won as a family."

Baylor never led in the game and played a man down for all four overtime periods.

The teams played to a 0-0 tie in the first half with McCallie only having three shots and Baylor one.

McCallie's Ben Brock opened the scoring in the 48th minute when he headed in a nice cross from Stone Roebuck.

The lead didn't last long as Baylor's Eemeli Makela scored on a free kick after McCallie foul just outside the box.

The game remained tied through regulation.  Baylor's Dee Appleberry got his second yellow card with three minutes left in the game giving McCallie a man advantage going into overtime.

McCallie took advantage of the man advantage when Jordan Morris finished off a rebounded shot three minutes into the first overtime period.

In the second overtime, Baylor took a free kick and Patrick Urey headed it in to tie the game.

Neither team scored in the golden goal periods sending it to penalty kicks.

Baylor's Mats Pokela had a big save on McCallie's first penalty kick, giving the Red Raiders an early advantage.

Baylor and McCallie would both miss one kick eventually setting up senior defender Patrick Urey for the game winner.  Urey slotted the ball past McCallie's Andrew Prescott, giving Baylor yet another state soccer championship.

"You talk about family," Blair said.

"You coudn't have written it any better with Urey (Patrick) hitting the winning shot tonight and his sister making the winning save in the fall for the girls.  This family has been through alot and the deserve this.  I couldn't be happier for them"

The yellow cards were flying with nine going to players and three on the benches.

Baylor finishes the season with a 17-3-3 record.  McCallie finishes at 16-3-1.
