The start of high school football practice is still a month away, and The Leaf-Chronicle already has looked at the Clarksville area's potential top playmakers and defensive standouts for the 2018 season.

Now The Leaf-Chronicle will take a look at 10 of the top offensive linemen returning this fall.

Demarrio Borum, Kenwood

Already a terror on the defensive line, Borum is also strong on the offensive end as a primary reason for Kenwood teammate Donte Mayberry running for 1,369 yards last season.

Jimmy Wendel, Northeast

Wendel opened holes for Northeast last season that led to 1,098 rushing yards from Tyrique Freeman and protected QB Heath Williams while he threw for 2,372 yards.

Brandon Armstrong, Clarksville High

Arguably the Wildcats' top offensive lineman, the senior helped lead a rushing attack that featured five players as CHS returned to the postseason last fall for the first time in three years.

Chris Pugh, West Creek

Pugh will be a four-year starter for the Coyotes, who are looking to improve on a season that saw them barely miss the Class 5A playoffs.

Rakeem Savusa, Northeast

Another major player up front for the Eagles, Savusa helped guide the team to more than 4,000 total rushing yards.

Jacob Robert Scott, Montgomery Central

The Indians' center enters 2018 as a senior and will be the anchor for Central. He's a three-year starter.

Jason Eaton, Clarksville High

Eaton already has offers from LSU, BYU, Austin Peay, South Carolina and most recently, Fresno State. The 6-foot-7, 320-pound lineman can be overwhelming when motivated and is technically sound.

Connor Huff, Rossview

Rossview will have a new-look backfield in 2018 and difficult Region 4-6A schedule ahead, but Huff's presence on the line should stabilize the Hawks' offense.

Blake Hundley, Clarksville High

Hundley had 42 pancake blocks last season as Clarksville ran for 3,855 yards in 2017. He was named All-Area Football Second Team last fall.

Kian Condon, West Creek

Condon is an incoming senior and one of the Coyotes' top offensive linemen. He leads an experienced returning group that includes three seniors and two juniors as West Creek looks to improve on last year's 5-5 record.
