The Lady Warriors extended the season in a thrilling fashion.
Happy Valley advanced with a 2-1 walk-off win in nine innings over Sullivan Central in the opening round of the District 1-AA tournament.
HV now advances into the double-elimination portion of the tournament and will travel to Sullivan East on Thursday.
The game was scoreless until the bottom of the fifth when Olivia Absher scored off a Maddie Lingerfelt double. That gave HV a 1-0 lead until the top of the seventh when the Lady Cougars added a run to force extra innings.
After a scoreless eighth inning, HV held the Lady Cougars scoreless in the top of the ninth. That set the stage for a thrilling win.
Abby Holt got on base with a double to lead off the frame, and then Absher was hit by a pitch to put runners on the corners. Lingerfelt took advantage of the opportunity with a single to center field to score Holt for the game-winning run.
Lingerfelt finished the game 4-for-4 with two RBI. Blakelee Ollis added two hits for HV.
In the circle, Holt pitched a gem as she allowed just one earned run on five hits with six strikeouts.
