USJ will open its season facing a new opponent on short notice.

After announcing on Monday that its game against Liberty was canceled because of COVID issues, USJ coach Michael Stroup confirmed that the Bruins would be playing at Goodpasture on Friday night.

Goodpasture was originally scheduled to play Harding Academy, but that game was changed and Harding Academy will now travel to Perry County for a scrimmage.

Perry County was originally scheduled to play Middleton but that game was also canceled due to COVID-related issues.
