The Warriorettes welcomed the Van Buren County Eaglettes to Roy Sewell Gymnasium on  Friday 12/16.  The Warriorettes would be without two key players against the team from up the mountain.  They would have to find a way to win without posts Celeste Reed and Ava Jones.

Both teams got off to a slow start offensively.  The Warriorettes did play great defense to begin the game.  The Ladies from Sparta scored the first 11 points of the game.   They then went cold and allowed the Eaglettes to score the next 10 points.  Once the Eaglettes had pulled within one early in the second quarter the Warriorette offense woke up. Lexi Golden hit a big three. Karley Gentry scored a two-point basket. Bella Winningham and Nia Powers both hit threes before the half and the home team led 30-21 at halftime.

The third quarter saw the Warriorettes begin to pull away. Threes were made by Winningham and KK McDonald. McDonald would make a circus shot in the paint and would be fouled for an old-fashioned three-point play.  Pyper Price helped put the game out of reach with some of the best basketball of her career.  She scored all 6 of her points in the third quarter and also played great on defense, blocking shots and rebounding. The Warriorettes led by a score of 51-33 after three.  Coach Dodgen would empty his bench as several players saw some of their first action of the season with several of them getting on the scoreboard.  The final score was 72-40.  Nia Powers once again led the Warriorettes with 16 points and 19 rebounds. Freshman Bella Winningham poured in 12 points.  Karley Gentry was also in double figures with 11. Lexi Golden had 8 points. Price and McDonald both had 6 points. Gracie Clark, Kennedy Billings, and Hannah Haley all got on the board with 5, 4 and 3 points respectively.
