Caroline Pardue wrapped up her Tennessee high school golf career with her second TSSAA state title in three years, and her school broke the state record with the lowest girls team score in history.

The Providence Christian senior and MTSU commitment won the Division II-A championship after shooting 4-under 136 (64-72). PCA shot 1-under 279 (131-148) to break Baylor's record of 280, which was set in 2006.

Pardue also won in 2021, and it is the program's third straight championship.

Webb School-Bell Buckle finished second with a 288.

PCA, a small private school in Murfreesboro, won without star golfer Isabella Johnson on the final day of the season. She shot a 3-under 67 on Thursday in the first round despite being ill. She was too sick to play Friday, PCA coach Philip Pettitt said.

"She got really sick," he said. "She showed up to the practice round Wednesday very sick. She battled and played a few holes on Wednesday and then we sent her to the hotel to let her rest. She played amazing (Wednesday) and shot 3 under par. And she could barely walk, she was so weak.

"She woke up (Friday) morning and she tried to come out to the range. But she just couldn't do it."

Teammate Reagan Warren, the team's No. 3 player, shot a 6-over 76 in the final round to help seal the win.

"She knew before she teed off, her hole was going to count," Pettitt said. "She was nervous, but she embraced it. I couldn't be more proud of Reagan. She did it under the pressure all day long."

Pettit said PCA sealed the state record on the final hole when Warren drained a 30-foot putt for birdie.
