615 Preps Girls Basketball Rankings: Hillsboro, Nolensville jump into top-5

We’re a week deeper into district play and some teams have started to separate themselves as the team to beat for that coveted top spot. Several results prompted a changes in this week’s large and small class girls basketball rankings.

Large Class teams include 4A, 3A, and Division II-AA. Small Class teams include 2A, 1A, and Division II-A.

Rankings are based on overall success current form for each teams. While teams may have beaten each other earlier in the season, we look at the current form of teams compared to each other.

With that in mind, here’s a look at this week’s 615 Preps large and small class girls rankings:

Large Class

1. Clarksville (17-0): Imari Berry joined the 2,000-point club in a 54-37 win over Springfield scoring a game-high 25 points. She added onto that a few days later leading the Lady Wildcats with 23 in a 65-33 win over Dickson County.

2. Lebanon (15-5): The Devilettes remained unbeaten with a trio o double-digit wins last week. Lebanon beat Stewarts Creek 52-42, LaVergne 52-24 and Webb-Bell Buckle 52-35.

3. Father Ryan (16-2): Relying heavily on stout defense, the Lady Irish continued their winning ways beating Pope Prep 42-30 and CPA 46-35.

4. Hillsboro (9-3): Opening the week with a 61-10 win over Hunters Lane, the Lady Burros faced stiffer tests against East Nashville. They held on to beat the Eagles 43-38 on Thursday and pulled away against Overton in the fourth quarter for the 57-46 win.

5. Nolensville (12-5): After beating Franklin 63-55, the Lady Knights came away with one of the most impressive results of the week cruising past Brentwood 62-44. Leilani Washington led the team that night with a game-high 22 points.

Small Class

1. Cheatham County (17-2): Weather limited the Lady Cubs to one game last week but it was a dominant showing as they crushed White House 59-37.

2. PCA (13-3): The run of wins without being tested much continued last week for the Lady Lions. They opened the week with a 62-30 win over USN and closed it with a 59-29 win over Columbia Academy.

3. Sycamore (12-5): The Lady War Eagles were limited to 37 points against Liberty Creek were stout on their own defensively limiting them to a mere 25 points of their own.

4. East Robertson (11-4): Freshman sensation Allye Pennington continued her torrid pace 26 points in a 66-48 win over Jo Byrns while also leading the Lady Indians past Merrol Hyde 57-15.

5. FRA (13-5): With a 58-25 win over the Tennessee Heat and 64-35 win over BGA, the Lady Panthers remain unbeaten so far in 2024.
