Robert Bourdon, a three-star offensive lineman at Collierville High School, has flipped his commitment.

Bourdon, who is a senior and originally committed to Duke, announced Monday on social media that he was committing to Texas A&M instead. He's ranked the No. 12 player in Tennessee, per 247sports composite.

"While I visited Duke a few times, I grew a great relationship with Coach (Adam) Cushing and Coach (Mike) Elko," Bourdon said. "When they got hired at A&M, they offered me. I went on a visit (to Texas A&M) this weekend and I realized that connection was still very much there."

Mike Elko, who was Duke's coach in 2022 and 2023, was named the new Texas A&M coach on Nov. 27, just a couple of weeks after the Aggies fired Jimbo Fisher. Adam Cushing, the former offensive line coach at Duke who has the same title at Texas A&M, was hired in December.

Despite Elko leaving for Texas A&M, Bourdon had said he was "still very much committed" to the Blue Devils, who hired Manny Diaz to replace Elko. The Duke offensive coaching staff even had an in-home visit with Bourdon on Jan. 18, per his account on X, formerly known as Twitter.

"Obviously, I didn't sign in December with a lot of the other recruits," Bourdon said. "I was a little worried about whether or not I'd fit in with the coaches at Duke. So I wasn't necessarily looking into other schools yet, I just wanted to check out my fit with the coaches and whether not my beliefs still lined up with theirs."

This season, Bourdon was named to the Tennessee Sports Writers Association Class 6A all-state team and The Commercial Appeal's first-team All-Metro. He was on an offensive line that helped Collierville finish 8-4 and reach the second round of the playoffs. The Dragons' offense averaged about 30 points per game this season.

Entering this season, he was ranked No. 3 in The Commercial Appeal's Dandy Dozen for the Class of 2024, a compilation of the area's top college football prospects ahead of the season.

This past season, Texas A&M finished 7-6, losing to Oklahoma State in the TaxAct Texas Bowl in Houston.

"I'm looking forward to getting to learn under Coach Cushing," Bourdon said. "I believe in everything that he stands for and everything that he teaches. The competition is at the highest level so it will help me develop as a player and a person."
