SMYRNA — Getting to the TSSAA state individual tournament championship match was nothing new to Hardin County senior bowler Macy Bromley.

Facing someone other than her twin sister was, however.

Bromley captured her second consecutive state title, defeating Bartlett's Kenzie Bond, the No. 1 seed, 193-150.

Other state champions included Columbia's Alex Davis in Division I boys, Friendship Christian's Logan Winkler in Division II boys and Friendship Christian's Olivia Rush in Division II girls.

It was the third straight year Macy Bromley reached the championship, but the first time it wasn't against her sister, Millie.

No. 2 seed Macy Bromley and No. 3 seed Millie Bromley (who won the state title in 2022) squared off in the prior match of the stepladder finals.

"It was weird . . . never done that before," Macy said about facing Millie before the title match. "It feels really good to win back-to-back. I was hoping I would, but you never know."

Hardin County senior bowler Macy Bromley captured her second consecutive TSSAA state individual title Wednesday.

Macy reached the final by defeating Millie 226-148.

"It's been fun to watch," Hardin County girls coach Jennifer Channell said. "They definitely left the younger girls something to aspire to and work at."

Davis, the No. 1 seed, trailed much of his match with No. 5 seed Matteo Quintero, a freshman from Stewarts Creek. But an untimely open frame by Quintero and back-to-back strikes by Davis in the ninth and 10th frames put him over the top.

"I just kept thinking, do everything you can, and whatever happens, just have good sportsmanship," said Davis, a junior who finished fifth in the state last year. "(Quintero) is one of my friends and I've known him for a long time. If he would have won, I would have been happy for him. I'm just glad it went the way it did."

Like Bromley, Rush won her second state title in a row. The senior and No. 1 seed defeated Harding Academy's Simone Guyton 181-167 in the championship.

Winkler worked his way from being the No. 5 seed to winning the state title, defeating St. Benedict's Jackson Roberts 223-169 in the championship.

Columbia junior Alex Davis captured the TSSAA Division I boys state individual bowling championship Wednesday.
