The Franklin County Rebelettes lost to the Marshall County Tigerettes 55-32 on the road Thursday for their 16th loss of the season.
After a close first half, the Rebelettes struggled to score in the last two quarters as they ended the regular season with a district loss.
The Rebelettes opened the game on an 11-4 run and were able to maintain a decent lead for the rest of the first quarter. Na’Kayjah Holman scored seven of Franklin County’s 13 points in the opening period.
They led 13-8 after one quarter.
The score was tied at two different points in the second quarter with the Tigerettes taking the lead in the final minute of the half.
Franklin County trailed 22-21 at halftime.
The Tigerettes scored the first 11 points of the third quarter to bring their advantage up to double digits. Gracen Baggett scored all four of Franklin County’s points in the third quarter.
Franklin County trailed 37-25 going into the final period.
The Tigerettes pushed their lead past 20 points midway through the fourth quarter with the Rebelettes not being able to answer back as they lost by 23.
Baggett and Holman led the Rebelettes with 11 points each for the game, followed by Hannah Campbell with seven points and Josie Davis with three.
With the loss, the Rebelettes moved to 8-16 on the season and 3-7 in district play.
They will next play Monday at Marshall County High School in a quarterfinal game for the District 8AAA tournament. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
