Volunteer girls win District 2-3A

NEW TAZEWELL — Leading from the second quarter on, the Volunteer girls basketball team finished the job in Monday’s District 2-3A championship game with a 48-39 win over Greeneville inside Claiborne’s gym.

Tournament MVP Veda Barton led the way for the Lady Falcons with 19 points while Ava Jackson netted 10.
