HV Falls Short In District 1-2A Consolation Game

Happy Valley came up short on Monday night.

The Lady Warriors dropped a 49-34 decision to Chuckey-Doak in the District 1-2A Consolation game at Daniel Boone.

Happy Valley will open the Region 1-A tournament on the road Friday night. That match-up will be set after Tuesday’s District 2-2A Championship game.

After the Lady Black Knights jumped out early, HV ended the first quarter on a 5-0 run to trim the lead to 12-9 after a quarter of play. The teams traded shots throughout the second quarter as Chuckey-Doak held a slim 21-18 advantage.

In the third quarter, the Lady Black Knights were able to get some breathing room by outscoring HV 15-7 in the quarter. The Lady Warriors kept fighting but were unable to rally in the final quarter.

Cayden Anderson led Happy Valley with 14 points, while Josephine Zeoli had nine points. Ashlynn Sommers and Breanna Nicholas added three points apiece.

Saniah Atchison and Faith Yokley had 11 points apiece to lead Chuckey-Doak.
