While it was a magical ride to get there, the road ended in Murfreesboro on Wednesday for Dobyns-Bennett, Cloudland and North Greene in their respective state quarterfinal rounds on the girls side.

It was an uphill mountain to climb from the beginning tip for all three teams, who had to play from behind the entire game.

Dobyns-Bennett came close to striking and making a late run before time ran out on them against Coffee County. The same went for North Greene, who could not quite close the gap enough despite bringing it within a one-point deficit several times. For the one-loss Cloudland Lady Highlanders, they overcame an early 6-0 deficit and actually took the lead in the first quarter before Pickett County took over in the second and third quarters.

In the end, a great run as the Greeneville Lady Greene Devils finish off the slate of local girls squads on Thursday.
