Two Tribe wrestlers place at state

The McMinn Tribe Wrestling Club had two wrestlers, Clark Ballay (left) and Jethro Nordstrom (right), place in the TNAAU 2024 State Tournament this past weekend. Ballay placed fifth in the bantam 40-pounds division, a historic feat as the first state placer for the MTWC. Nordstrom followed with his own fifth place finish, emerging as the third seed from the region to secure a spot. Pictured with the two wrestlers is Tribe head coach Bradley Collins. Wyatt Ballay, Jed Nordstrom and Braylin Smith also competed. The club will end its season in May and is still taking wrestlers. Contact Collins at 205-335-9396 or collins.wrestling@outlook.com
