Photo Gallery: Bulldogs Fall In Opening Day Doubleheader

The Hampton baseball team came up short on opening day.

The Bulldogs dropped a doubleheader to Bethel Christian (N.C.) at Scotty Bunton Field on Monday afternoon. Hampton fell 7-3 in the first game and 3-2 in the nightcap.

In the first game of the day, Noah Nichols went 2-for-3 at the plate, while Chase Davenport was 2-for-2. Gabriel Lyons and Jayden Kuhn each recorded an RBI.

On the mound, Chance Point struck out four batters while Elisha Henson recorded three strikeouts in relief work.

In the second game, Kuhn struck out nine batters and allowed just one earned run on four hits, but Hampton was unable to rally from a 3-0 deficit after two innings of play.

Kuhn went 3-for-3, while Point added a hit.
