BLUFF CITY — Dobyns-Bennett’s baseball team improved to 3-0 with a 19-4 nonconference throttling of Sullivan East on Thursday.
Eight of the Indians’ nine starters recorded a hit, and six of them had multiple base knocks. Andrew Reilly finished with four RBIs off three hits, including a two-run double in D-B’s four-run second inning.
Bradley Anderson got the win in relief, tossing two perfect frames with three strikeouts.
Tennessee High 18, West Ridge 1
BRISTOL, Tenn. — Jimmy Phipps picked up the win and Dayne Musick went 4-for-4 for the Vikings.
Musick crushed a home run out of Tod Houston Memorial Stadium, as did teammate Ashton Leonard.
Cherokee 8, North Greene 6
ROGERSVILLE — Cherokee (1-2) used a three-run sixth to secure a comeback victory.
Clay Wagoner went 2-for-3 and scored twice for the Chiefs.
Sawyer Housewright recorded the win after three innings of scoreless relief to close the game, striking out four.

GRAY — The Trailblazers (2-1) came out firing on all cylinders with a three-run first inning.
Graham Jones had two hits, including a triple, and scored three times.
Slader Tinker got the win, pitching five shutout innings of two-hit ball. He also went 2-for-3 with two RBIs.
Science Hill 8, Knox West 3
JOHNSON CITY — The Hilltoppers rallied from a two-run deficit and moved to 4-0 with a win in the “Playing for the Cure” event at TVA Credit Union Ballpark.
Josh Marmo went 3-for-4 with an RBI triple in the fifth that broke open the game. Major Osbolt scored three times. Marmo tallied two RBIs, and Nate Stoots, Caden Wells, Aiden Vermillion and Sam Lane each had one.
West (1-5) pushed across two runs in the opening frame, getting to starter Austin Denham for one hit and three walks. Denham lasted into the third inning before Spencer Taylor relieved him.
Sam Royston took the mound in the fourth and earned the win, striking out two and giving up no hits in 2 1/3 innings. Cole ReSue got the final three outs.

NORTON — The Raiders managed just a pair of hits — singles by Brandon Edwards and Miguel Madrigal — against a stout Honaker team.
Eli McGlothlin had three hits to lead the Tigers and Connor Musick counted a home runs in his two base knocks.
Cornerstone Christian 10, Twin Springs 6
NICKELSVILLE — Xavier Sawyer piled up three hits for the Titans, but it was not enough in a nondistrict loss at Keith Memorial Park.
Landon Williams was the only other Twin Springs player with multiple hits, rapping out a double and a single.
Isaiah Sutton went 3-for-5, including a double, to lead Cornerstone Christian.

Dobyns-Bennett 18, Unaka 0
ELIZABETHTON — Sophie Dean dominated both at the plate and in the circle for the Tribe (2-0) in a run-rule victory over the Lady Rangers.
Dean hit a second-inning home run and finished 2-for-4 with four RBIs. On the hill, she allowed just one hit across the three innings.
The Lady Indians scored four runs in the first, nine in the second and five in the third.
West Ridge 8, Hampton 0
BLOUNTVILLE — Miranda Henley tossed a five-inning no-hitter, striking out 13, and the Lady Wolves scored five runs in the fourth to break open the game.
Kami Clark homered in the first inning for West Ridge, which never looked back. Clark ended the day with three hits and two runs scored.
Tennessee High 2, Crockett 1
BRISTOL, Tenn. — Pitching proved dominant for the Lady Vikings (2-0) in their conference opener.
Transfer Carly Compton went the distance in the circle, giving up just one run on one hit. She struck out 13 and walked one.

CHURCH HILL — Zetta Smith’s big day powered the Lady Falcons’ interstate win. Smith went 3-for-4 with a double, a triple and four RBIs.
Elise Bous picked up the win despite recording no strikeouts. She tossed a complete game and scattered 12 hits.
Gracie Garrett, Chloe Bledsoe, Chloe Calton, Emma Fortner and Taylor Bishop had two hits each for the Lady Generals. Garrett, Bledsoe, Calton, Fortner and Sybella Yeary drove in runs.
Gate City 6, Sullivan East 2
GATE CITY — The Lady Blue Devils opened up their season with plenty of early offense, scoring five runs in the first three innings.
Ada Gillenwater and Rylee Blevins had three-hit days at the top of the lineup. Gillenwater also struck out 13 in complete-game win, allowing only one earned run.
Union 8, Twin Springs 6
BIG STONE GAP — The Lady Bears collected 14 hits and rallied from an early deficit to clinch the nondistrict win.
Kaylee Rutherford, Jordan Shuler and Addison Toney each had three hits. Rutherford’s day included a double and a triple.
Aliyah Davidson picked up the win, striking out nine while allowing five hits.
Eastside 11, Tazewell 0
COEBURN — Taylor Clay had a big day for the Lady Spartans, going 3-for-3 with a homer, a double and a single.
Eastside’s Braelyn Hall did damage at both the plate and in the circle, striking out 13 and hitting a three-run home run. Emmaleigh Banks also homered and Lexi Bond collected two hits.
Cumberland Gap 18, Thomas Walker 4
CUMBERLAND GAP — The Lady Pioneers got on the board first thanks to a double from Sophie Lawson that scored Kayden Short, but their offense sputtered from there.
Cumberland Gap jumped ahead with two runs in the bottom of the first and nine in the second.
Short was the only Thomas Walker player with multiple hits.

West Ridge 5, Volunteer 0
BLOUNTVILLE — Carson Whisnant scored two goals, one in each half, to lead the Wolves’ offensive effort. Caleb Tuinstra, Emilio Hogate and Ashton Odham completed the scoring.
Parker Edgemon and Kendall Burton recorded two assists apiece and Noah Burton helped out on one.
Sullivan East 2, Cherokee 2
ROGERSVILLE — Grant Giles found the back of the net both times for the Patriots, one on an assist from Blake Paducah.
Will Phillips made 11 saves.
