Happy Valley was unable to answer a late run despite a rally on Monday evening.

The Warriors dropped a hard-fought 5-4 decision to Chuckey-Doak on Warrior Hill.

After CD took a 4-0 lead into the sixth inning, HV plated four runs in the home side of the frame as Jamie Esterline and Tucker Shoun capitalized on a CD error, and Drew Blevins hit a home run over the right-field fence to also score Colton Johnson.

Chuckey Doak regained the lead in the top of the seventh. In the bottom of the seventh, the Warriors were able to get the tying run to third and the winning run to second, but HV was unable to plate the runs.

Shoun, Johnson, and Blevins each had hits for HV.

On the mound, Shoun and Johnson both struck out five batters. Johnson allowed two unearned runs in three innings of work, while Shoun allowed just three earned runs on four hits.

Christian Derry led CD as he went 3-of-4 at the plate with three RBI.
