CLARKSVILLE TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Coming off a 2023-24 season where she was named a McDonald’s All-American, a Miss Basketball Award winner and became Clarksville High’s all-time leading scorer, top women’s basketball recruit Imari Berry has decided to reopen her recruitment to decide where she’ll be attending college next fall.

The news comes a week after Clemson Athletics parted ways with women’s basketball coach Amanda Butler, who Clarksville Now spoke to earlier this year, after she had built up the program over a six-year span.

Berry addressed the Clemson women’s basketball community on social media and said,” I owe this message to Tiger Nation. While I genuinely loved my experiences on campus, those experiences and the culture created within the program were a direct reflection of the coaching staff.

“I was able to establish strong relationships with those coaches and I have a great deal of respect for them. Because I am a relationship person, I knew immediately that it was within my best interest to reopen my recruitment,” Berry said.

The senior guard went on to say with time being limited, she has narrowed down a selection of schools that she is interested in attending and thanked everyone for their support during this process.

Berry, who is a five-star recruit and 13th ranked player in the class of 2024, previously received scholarships from schools such as UConn, Tennessee University and other power five programs in the country.
