ETSU men's basketball team had a remarkable comeback season which their fans are still celebrating. However, the head coach, Brooks Savage, is already looking ahead as he has no choice but to do so.

The transfer portal opened on Monday, and he has been busy not only trying to find more players but also keeping the ones he has. As we informed you yesterday, three players have hit the portal, and Savage was asked about it today.

"I hate to see them go but I've always said about the portal, it works both ways," said Savage. "Guys want to have the opportunity to find the type of opportunity they're looking for and the type of success they want to have and if that's somewhere else then we wish them the best."

Since the portal is now a significant part of college sports, and the season is still ongoing for some, Savage was asked if he thought it opened too soon.

"I think it's fine, let's get it moving," said Savage. "That's kinda why we opted out of the postseason. I don't really like the CBI, CIT, Vegas 16, you name it, I'm not really for those. I think it's a waste of time. Let's go recruit."
