Tuesday Round-up: Lady ‘Landers Roll Past UH; Lady Bulldogs Come Up Short

Cloudland 19, University High 0
The Lady ‘Landers jumped out early and never looked back.

CHS plated four runs in the top of the first and two more in the second to take a 6-0 advantage. Cloudland left no doubt in the third as they scored 13 runs.

Ryan Turbyfill and Izabella Christman went 2-for-3 with two RBI, while Reagan Turbyfill had three RBI. Cora Gibbs also brought in two RBI, while Jayla Harper, Laken Blair, Peyton Preswood, and Bethany Sluder each recorded an RBI apiece.

Chuckey-Doak 10, Hampton 8
The Lady Bulldogs were unable to hold off a late Chuckey-Doak charge.

Hampton jumped out to a 6-1 lead after two innings of play and maintained a 6-2 advantage after the third. The Lady Black Knights answered with six runs in the top of the fourth, but Hampton was able to plate two of their own in the home side of the frame to tie the game at 8-8.

After CD took a 10-8 lead in the top of the sixth, Hampton was unable to rally despite a hard-fought effort.

Emma Hughes went 3-for-4 with three RBI, while Briley Davis had three RBI and two hits.

Hannah Smith went 3-for-4. Mallory Lamb added two hits and an RBI.

Baseball
Johnson County 22, Hampton 3
The Bulldogs were unable to recover from a big Johnson County seventh inning on Tuesday afternoon.

Hampton trailed 6-3 after two innings of play before the Longhorns were able to add a lone run in the fifth and two more in the sixth.

Johnson County secured the win with 13 runs in the top of the seventh.

Parker Williams was 2-for-3 at the plate with an RBI, while Elisha Henson also went 2-for-3. Chance Point, Noah Nichols, Jayden Kuhn, Chance Davenport, Geno Carrico, and Gabriel Lyons each added a hit.

Chuckey-Doak 14, Happy Valley 3
The Warriors were unable to bounce back from a nine-run Black Knight fourth inning.

The teams traded runs to open the game before CD took a 3-1 into the third. Happy Valley was able to get a run back to trim the gap to 3-2 heading to the fourth.

Tucker Shoun went 2-for-3 with a RBI, while Cade Kendall added a RBI. Lane Parker added a hit.

Drew Blevins allowed just two earned runs on four hits with six strikeouts in just over three innings of work.
