The Lady Cyclones won a thriller on Wednesday evening.

After Unicoi County scored single runs in the first and third, EHS got on the board in the top of the fourth when Mikinna Blackwell hit a double that scored Emma O’Quinn to cut the deficit in half.

The Lady Cyclones took the lead in the top of the six as J Reece pushed Ava Kellerman across the plate with a two-out double, and Lilly McDuffie hit a single to move Grace Whaley across home plate.

Elizabethton was able to add a run in the visiting side of the seventh as Lela Byrd put the ball in play to score Mollie Johnson. EHS saw Unicoi load the bases in the final frame, but the Lady Cyclones recorded a strikeout to take the win.

Elizabethton saw nine batters record hits in the game.

In the pitching circle, McDuffie allowed just two earned runs on six hits with three strikeouts in four innings of work, while Byrd struck out six batters in three innings of work.

Sullivan East 5, Happy Valley 1
Six Lady Warriors recorded hits, but Happy Valely was unable to outlast Sullivan East on Wednesday night.

Juley Nimesnki recorded a triple for HV, and five other batters tallied singles in the game.
