The season began March 4 at home against Franklin County. Lincoln County’s pitching combination of Ben Davis, Maddox Meeks, and Rhett Persell yielded not a single run to the Rebels over the course of seven innings.
After a 4-2 loss at Oakland three days later, it was off to the beach for four games of tough competition against Alabama schools.
Spring Break week began on March 11 with a tight showdown with Bayside Academy. Just one run was scored in the game’s entirety, unfortunately not to Lincoln County.
The Falcons rebounded the next day by edging out Tuscaloosa County, 2-1. That same day saw another game decided by one run, this time in a 5-4 loss to Decatur.
The tournament stretch wrapped Wednesday for Lincoln County with a 5-2 victory over the Madison Academy Mustangs to bring the Falcons’ record to 3-3 entering this week.
