Tullahoma High School men’s soccer team played at DeKalb County on March 12 and won 6-0.
Wildcats’ goalkeeper Daniel Eldridge made four saves during the season-opener. Senior Juan Astello had a hat trick.
Tullahoma scored the first goal of the game in the 20th minute off the boot of Astello. He followed a shot from Aiden Walker and scored on the rebound. The second goal was put in the net during the 40th minute by Kaiden Grau. Grau headed the ball in with an assist from Jayden Sarabia. Sarabia scored a goal of his own in the 55th minute. Jude Smith got the ball to Sarabia for an assist. Astello scored his second goal in the 60th minute after beating the keeper to the ball. Sarabia was the ‘Cat who assisted on the goal. Astello completed the hat trick in the 62nd minute with an assist from Charlie Dodson. Chase Banks scored the last goal unassisted in the 70th minute.
The Wildcats hosted Cascade Monday for the home opener and lost 3-1. Tullahoma was down five varsity players who were out of town, so more of the younger players saw time. The ‘Cats missed some one on one opportunities in the first half. All three of the Champions goals came from set pieces. Coach Chadwick said the team played well defensively. Jack Hill scored the lone goal for Tullahoma with an assist from Taiten Brunelle.
