Senior right-hander Noah Sills pitched a complete-game three-hitter as the John Battle Trojans remained unbeaten with a 5-1 baseball win over the Providence Academy Knights from Johnson City, Tennessee.
Sills allowed one run on three hits, while waking two and striking out four in throwing 98 pitches. He has committed to play at Patrick & Henry Community College in Martinsville, Virginia.
“Kid pitched his tail off against a very good Providence team,” said John Battle coach Jimmy Gobble. “He managed counts very well.”
Battle (5-0) scored all five of its runs in the first two innings.
Porter Gobble and Caden Sturgill each had two hits. Sturgill, Elijah Childress, Palmer Gobble and Casey Rector finished with RBIs.
Josh Owens, Rinaldo Matti and Grant Gentry had the hits for Providence. Matti scored the run for the Knights.

Christopher Steele went 3-for-4 with four RBIs and freshman Keldan Hamilton pitched a two-hitter as the Eastside Spartans hammered Holston in five innings and improved to 3-2.
Clay Ward (3-for-4, two triples, three RBIs) also had a big day at the plate, while Gabe Raymond and Tanner Perry each had two hits.
Holston (1-3) received its hits from Brady Statzer and Noah Tweed.
Patrick Henry 12, Twin Springs 8
Waylon Daniels went 3-for-4 with three runs and five RBIs as the Patrick Henry Rebels outslugged the Twin Springs Titans for a non-district victory.
PH erased an early 5-1 deficit and took the lead for good with a five-run fourth inning.
Kolby Hicks added two hits and scored two runs, Hank Rutherford had two hits and two RBIs, while Trajan Cannon was the winning pitcher in relief and also collected two RBIs.
Sophomore Clay Ross had two doubles for Twin Springs. The Titans also received two hits from Peyton Broadwater and two RBIs from Mason Culbertson.

Sebastian Gomez went 4-for-5, scored twice and tallied two RBIs as the George Wythe Maroons blasted Bland County for a Mountain Empire District victory.
Tandom Smith (3-for-4, triple, four runs, three RBIs) co-starred alongside Gomez.
Cade Bralley, Carson Stanley and Cam Skeens added two hits apiece.
Stanley got the win on the mound as well.
Carson Holbrook drove in three runs for Bland.

Landon Lane (2-for-4, three runs, three RBIs) and Will Rollins (three RBIs) were also among the hitting heroes.
Rye Cove has won its first three games by an aggregate of 69-2.

Lukas Dotson went 3-for-3 with a home run and five RBIs for Twin Valley, but it wasn’t nearly enough as the Panthers lost to the club from West Virginia.
West Ridge 2, Morristown East 0
Brayden Barr barred Morristown East from scoring as he pitched a five-hit shutout with six strikeouts.
West Ridge managed just two hits against Morristown East’s hurler, but the Wolves scored once in the first inning when Parker Senn stole home and in the fourth inning as Alex Ireson scored on a fielder’s choice groundout by Reed White.
Honaker 7, Ridgeview 4
The first three hitters in Honaker’s batting order – Matthew Nunley, Eli McGlothlin and Connor Musick – combined to go 6-for-9 with four RBIs and five runs scored as the Honaker Tigers improved to 6-1.
Kam Beavers and Christian Ball teamed to pitch a six-hitter with 10 strikeouts.
Russell County (Ky.) 10, Tennessee High 3
Tennessee High opened the Ripen Experience event in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, with a loss.
Ashton Leonard and Cainan Meyers each had three hits for THS with Leonard driving in two runs.
Bryson Hutton scored two runs for the Vikings.
Three Tennessee High pitchers combined to give up 11 hits and issue five walks. THS committed two errors and fell behind 6-1 after three innings.
Gate City 24, Tri-Cities Christian 0
Dakoda McMurray pitched a three-inning no-hitter with six strikeouts and also went 2-for-3 with six RBIs as the Gate City Blue Devils trounced Tri-Cities Christian.
Eli McMurray added four hits and drove in four runs in the win.

Kiley Ray went 2-for-3 with a homer and also scored two runs as the Honaker Tigers took a win over Russell County rival Castlewood.
Aliyah Hilton added two hits for Honaker (4-0), while Lincoln Bush scored two runs.
Madison Sutherland, Jozy Phillips and Shea Phillips scored Castlewood’s runs. Sutherland hit a solo homer, while Jozy Phillips tallied two hits.

Carly Compton struck out 14 of the 15 batters she faced in spinning a five-inning perfect game as Tennessee High lambasted Leslie County in its second game in the Ripken Experience event in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Chloe Bledsoe had herself a day for the Lee High Generals.
She went 4-for-4 with a home run and six RBIs, while also striking out a batter in pitching a scoreless inning of relief in a key Mountain 7 District victory over Union.
Sybella Yeary added three hits in the win.
Gracie Garrett, Chloe Calton, Emma Fortner and Jenna Turner supplied two hits apiece as Lee collectively finished with 17 hits.
Calton allowed two hits in four innings in the circle.
Kylee Castle and Aliyah Davidson had Union’s two hits. Davidson drove in Castle in the fourth inning for the team’s only run.

Jordan Mooney went 3-for-5 with four RBIs and was also the winning pitcher as J.I. Burton bopped Holston and avenged an earlier loss to the Cavaliers.
Sophomore Mackayla McCurdy homered for the Raiders, while Savannah Adams tallied two hits and two RBIs.
Rily Cobler, Katelyn Remine, Sydney Bishop and Maya Owens each had two hits for Holston. Remine doubled twice and drove in three runs.
Eastside 24, Tazewell 1
Emmaleigh Banks went 4-for-4 with five runs scored and four RBIs as Eastside trounced Tazewell for a non-district road win.
Taylor Clay (4-for-5, four runs, four RBIs), Braelyn Hall (4-for-5, four runs), Lexi Bond (2-for-2, three RBIs), Rhyleigh Lawson (2-for-2, two RBIs), Jada Jordan (two RBIs), Emma Sartin (two RBIs), Abbie Funk (2-for-4, two runs), Braeley McCoy (2-for-2), Maddie Compton (2-for-4) and Haley Day (three runs) were also key contributors to a 26-hit barrage.
Sartin pitched a one-hitter with nine strikeouts and zero walks.
Eastside scored 12 runs in the first inning.
Whitney Bowman had the only hit for Tazewell. Emma Williams scored the lone run for the Bulldogs via an RBI groundout from Riley Lowe in the fourth inning.

Andrea Pannell and Makenna Gilman each hit two home runs as George Wythe blasted Bland County for a Mountain Empire District victory.
Gilman finished 5-for-5 with six RBIs, while Pannell went 3-for-4 with five RBIs.
Aniyah Burks also went yard for the Maroons.
Samara Sheffey (3-for-3, four runs, two RBIs), Olivia Shockley (3-for-3), Burks (2-for-2, four RBIs) and Emma Faulkner (3-for-4, three runs) also played well.
Caroline Harris, Ashley Layne and Faulkner combined to pitch a one-hitter with eight Ks.
Alyssa Shinault had the only hit for Bland.

Raniah Gaitor homered and recorded five RBIs as the John Battle Trojans trounced Gate City for a Mountain 7 District win.
Madison Bowery also had five RBIs, while Keeley Smith (2-for-2, two runs, three walks, three RBIs) and Kailee McCroskey (2-for-2, two runs) had productive days at the plate too.
Battle scored 14 times in the fifth inning.
Taylor Childress struck out eight as the winning pitcher.
Rylee Blevins had two hits and scored two runs for Gate City, while Ada Gillenwater was 2-for-3 with two RBIs.
