Tullahoma High School men’s soccer team played at Marshall County and won 5-1 before traveling to St. Andrews Sewanee where they won 3-1.
In the match at Marshall, Juan Astello scored two goals. Jayden Sarabia scored one on an assist from Chase Banks. Gage Allen scored a goal and Taiten Brunelle scored the other goal. The field conditions took time for the team to adjust to. The Tigers lone goal came in the second half on a free kick. Charlie Dodson had a non-goalkeeper save. While defenders were slipping in the mud, he prevented the ball from crossing the scoring line. Goalkeeper Daniel Eldridge stopped a penalty kick. The team was impacted by not playing for over a week, as they were out of their rhythm and flow from prior to the break.
The Wildcats won back-to-back games after picking up the win Thursday night at SAS. Allen scored for the second straight game, this time from a Chase Dodson cross. The second goal was an own goal by the Mountain Lions. Sarabia took a shot from the corner and it deflected off of a defender and into the net. Sarabia scored the last goal after beating two defenders on a shot from the corner.
Tullahoma’s Junior Varsity also played at SAS and won 2-0. Omar Garcia scored on goal and assisted the other goal, scored by Bryan Escobar.
The Wildcats host Franklin County Friday with a 6 p.m. start time for the Varsity match. JV will play following the conclusion of the Varsity match.
