Hallie Meeks from Lincoln County High School had a good night at the plate in the Lady Falcons out of district battle with Stewarts Creek. Meeks finished with a single, double, and home run for 3 RBIs. The ladies trailed 7-3 going into the bottom of the seventh and rallied on a two run bomb by Meeks, but the Lady Redhawks finished with the win 7-5.
Lady Falcons’ softball went 3-2 in their games last week. The most important result was an 11-0 shutout of Warren County in six innings.
The game took place on March 25 at Warren County. After a scoreless first inning Lincoln County scored in every one of the last five innings.
Leading the offense was senior catcher Abby Flynt with her fifth homerun of the season along with three RBIs. Freshmen right fielder Brinley Moran recorded three doubles and a pair of runs driven in.
Senior Mia Brown put on another dominant pitching performance, going the full distance of six innings with nine strikeouts and only allowed five hits.
Thursday night was a tight 7-5 loss at home to Stewarts Creek. Lincoln County launched two dingers in the game but their comeback fell short after trailing 7-3 in the seventh inning.
The next day was a three-game day in Soddy Daisy of which Lincoln County won two. The Lady Falcons defeated McMinn County and Smyrna and lost to Soddy Daisy.
Overall Lincoln County’s record entering this week is an impressive 15-4. Maybe more remarkable is they’ve outscored their opponents by 85 runs.
This week will be a little more relaxed for the Lady Falcons with just three games on the slate.
