CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Clarksville Academy two-way player Jalon Page has been named Clarksville Now Player of the Week for his pitching performance against a top ranked team in the state, in addition to his offensive production.

Entering the week of March 25, the Clarksville Academy baseball team had compiled a record of 6-4 before playing four games during the week. The Cougars kicked off the week with a two-game series against the number one ranked team in the state of Tennessee at the division II-A level, Goodpasture Christian.

In the first game of the series, Page was given the nod to start the game on the mound, while batting sixth in the lineup. While Goodpasture Christian was able to tie the game up at 2-2 in the bottom of the fourth, they would not score another run in the game.

This is where Clarksville Academy took over the contest. In the top of the fifth inning, Brennen Gibson and Page both blasted 2-run home runs to give their squad a 6-2 lead.
