Thursday Round-up: Warriors Roll Past Cloudland, Hampton Takes Win

The Cyclones came up short in a nonconference game Thursday afternoon.

EHS took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first and maintained a 3-1 advantage after four complete innings. The Trailblazers, however, used a big fifth inning to take the lead and the win.

JD Hooks was 3-for-3 with two RBI, while Steven Meadows went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Rhett Slagle and Logan Campbell each added an RBI for the Cyclones.

On the mound, Carson Atkinson allowed just four earned runs on two hits in just over four innings of work.

Happy Valley 19, Cloudland 2
The Warriors scored 12 runs in the top of the third to pull away and take a county win Thursday evening.The game was moved to Warrior Hill due to weather.

After the Warriors took a 4-0 advantage in the top of the first, the ‘Landers answered with two runs in the home side of the inning.
HV extended the lead in the second and took full control with a 12-run third inning.

Tucker Shoun went 2-for-3 with three RBI, while L Parker and Cade Kendall each had two RBI and a hit.

On the mound, Kendall picked up the win as he allowed just one earned run on two hits with five strikeouts.

Jacob Stinnett had a hit and an RBI for Cloudland, while Walker Gouge added a hit.

Hampton 17, Tri-Cities Christian 5
The Bulldogs methodically pulled away for a Thursday evening win at Scotty Bunton Field.

After Tri-Cities Christian plated three runs to open the game, Hampton responded with four of their own to take the lead.

The Bulldogs added two more in the second and four more in the third to take full control. Hampton secured the run-rule win with seven runs in the bottom of the fourth.

Chance Point had a home run, a double, and two stolen bases for Hampton. Bryce Fagan had three RBI, while Geno Carrico added two RBI.

Chase Davenport went 2-for-3 with two RBI and added three stolen bases to the Bulldog tally. In all, Hampton stole 13 bases in the game.

Elizabethton 10, Hampton 0
The Lady Cyclones limited Hampton to take a Wednesday afternoon win in Hampton.

Lela Byrd went 3-for-4 with two RBI, while Sadie Williams was 2-for-3 with four RBI to pace the Lady Cyclones. Jozey Reece added two hits and two RBI.

Lilly McDuffie picked up the win in the circle as she allowed just two hits and struck out seven batters.

For the Lady Bulldogs, Hannah Smith and Mallory Lamb each added a hit. Briley Davis struck out four batters.
