The Trousdale County High School softball team started its District 6-2A schedule on March 28 with a trip to Liberty Creek, but it was a tough assignment for the Lady Jackets, as they could muster only one hit in their 5-0 loss.

The visitors rendered one run in the fourth inning, three in the fifth, and one in the sixth to the Lady Wolves.

Senior Maddie Lee had the only hit for the Purple and Gold.

Monday at Smith County, the Hartsville girls enjoyed a 15-2 victory over the Lady Owls. They built a 5-0 lead after two innings, then added four runs in the fourth, and six more in the fifth in this, their third consecutive win over the Carthage girls.

Junior Emma Holder went three for three with one RBI and four runs scored. Lee also had three hits in her five at-bats. Cayden Ray, Bailey Hines and Mary Linville each produced two hits. Kayleigh Dunn blasted a three-run home run in the fifth inning.

Lee picked up the win in the circle, as she recorded eight strikeouts, while giving up five hits and two walks.

The win raised the record for the Lady Jackets to 3-2.

The Lady Jackets are slated to have two home games in their district next week, Tuesday against Liberty Creek and Thursday with White House-Heritage.
